Amaru Come Unity Home School LC3 is a Pre-kindergarten through 8th grade Home School Support System located in Uptown New Orleans and operated by the non-profit Come-Unity Alliance for Education and Success (CAFES).
Established August 2015, we began as a protest to the educational and behavioral colonialism happening at the expense of melanated scholars throughout New Orleans. We create an environment rich in African culture and model positivity with our impressions, expressions, and social interactions.
At ACU, students acquire the attitudes and skills that contribute to successful learning in school and across their lifespan.
We strive to help students develop the academic skills and attitudes necessary to make effective transitions from middle school to high school, and from high school to a wide range of postsecondary options.
In addition, students understand how their academic experiences prepare them to be successful in the world of work, in their interpersonal relationships, and in the community.
